The Moon Shadow Theme boasts work of the upcoming Solar Eclipse that will take place as first landing hits our little communities here on the Oregon Coast on August 21st. As artists we look for natural enlightenment as inspiration for our work. Join us as we share our creations with you. Demonstrations will be on site as well as Plein-Air painters outside in the garden area.
Pam Young will be demonstrating her techniques of clay works that are rare and whimsical in both functional and display while working from slabs of clay that are shaped into her creations...her inspiration is from nature, using symbols of fish, birds, trees, etc. From vases to back yard plaques to tea pot sets, coffee cups and more, she allows her spirit of humor to come through in the most amusing and unique ways.
Susan P. Hanson, will show how she braids elegant cords using the Kumihumo braiding technique to hang her one of a kind glass beads on . Basic strands are made by looping thread through the fingers in a repetitive manner. Ancient samurai warriors used to decorate their armor and sometimes hold it together using kumihumo cords. Kumihumo is a fun and colorful part of Japanese heritage. She will be demonstrating this art form , and embellishing the necklace with one of her handmade glass beads.
Our PleinAir Painters will be Multi-Media aritist's Catherine Hingson and Carol Jurasin demonstrating water color.
