I mostly paint between abstract or Minimalism and its all about either emotion and tone or empty space. Empty space is a potent element I learned in Zen Calligraphy and has influenced my composition deeply. The great thing about modern art is that whatever you see makes it your experience; what one viewer may see may be a 180 or farther into another perspective.
I am an American artist, hailing from the West/Southwest primarily. I paint long horizons because I’ve always loved the feeling of quiet from being a small entity in an epic landscape, hopefully empty of people and people matters and alive with wildlife, seen or felt. I paint ongoing series which contain a certain canoe shape, or a particular flying shape which I refer to as archangel, and/or a small a motif which resembles a thorn. No explanations offered.
I am also a photographer and writer. My painting and Zen Calligraphy are currently exhibited at Pacific Artist’s Alliance Gallery.
