Greg creates functional and sculptural pieces in clay, a medium with infinite possibilities for creativity and aesthetic pleasure. His functional pieces include one-of-a-kind lidded jars in a wide range of sizes, and his sculptures combine multiple techniques, hand-building and throwing, to create pieces with big personalities.
Greg prefers working with stoneware clays and glazes, generally in an earthtone palette. He describes his manner of working as controlled carelessness, letting his ideas flow through his hands as he builds and throws. In this process, the clay guides him as much as he guides the clay. The results are impressive: elegant jars and majestic creatures with a touch of magic about them. Regardless of what he is creating, every piece is sure to captivate the viewer.
After pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Greg has been involved with clay art for decades, from art restoration work to creating pieces highly sought by interior designers.
