Ilene is a fine art photographer who captures unseen and altered realities using infrared, long exposure, macro, and black/white photography. As a geophysicist/geologist, their photographs reflect their love of waves and landscapes. Their photographic art also plays an important part in documenting our too quickly changing landscapes, weather, flora and fauna.
Ilene began their photographic journey, shooting landscapes and doing black and white processing in the 80s, taking a composition class in renowned photographer Art Wolfe’s living room in 1985. Their photography has grown to blend their scientific, musical, and artistic interests, adding additional dimensions and abstraction to the subject being captured.
Ilene has been showing work for decades and has won numerous awards. They live in South Beach on the central Oregon coast.
