Jenny Dirks
Jewelry: Silver and Gold

Jenny Dirks is a jewelry artist based on the Oregon Coast, where her work is shaped by a lifelong connection to wild landscapes, especially the meeting point of forest and sea. She creates pieces rooted in the Pacific Northwest—jewelry meant to be worn as a daily reminder of the places where you feel most at home. Her practice reflects a sensitivity to place, translating the textures and rhythms of the natural world into wearable form.
Her creative path began long before she ever picked up a torch. Raised in the Rocky Mountains of Montana and later moving to the Oregon Coast as a teenager, she formed a lasting connection to these landscapes that continue to shape her work. A pivotal moment came while living on Vancouver Island, where watching a silversmith at work revealed the transformative potential of metal and led her to begin learning silversmithing through her local jewelry school. From there, her focus shifted toward the materials and textures surrounding her—sea glass shaped by years in the ocean, smooth beach stones, and the intricate surfaces of moss, ferns, and the forest floor.
Each piece is handmade in her Oregon Coast studio using precious metals, primarily solid sterling silver with occasional solid gold accents. Jenny works slowly and intentionally, allowing both the materials and the landscape to guide each design. Her work reflects years spent walking shorelines and forest paths, paying attention to details often overlooked. The result is jewelry that carries a strong sense of place—tactile pieces that hold the essence of the Oregon Coast and offer a lasting connection to it.
