Biography Lisa Talley is an award-winning fine art photographer from the Pacific Northwest. Her photography has won top honors at the Oregon State Fair, numerous People’s Choice awards, as well as multiple awards at the Nature Photographers of the Pacific Northwest annual meetings. Artist Statement As a visual artist, I enjoy seeking out locations that evoke the beauty and solitude of nature. I am blessed to live near the Oregon Coast, as well as near the many streams, rivers, and waterfalls that grace the Pacific Northwest. To experience the instant a sunrise unveils the vivid hues of the morning, to the vibrant colors at the end of the day, it never fails to make my spirits soar.
I also enjoy heading to the Oregon Outback, where the wildlife is plentiful and the night sky reveals a brilliant display we call the Milky Way. The remoteness and beauty of this area has left a profound impact on me.
As I’m sure some of you have experienced, I too acquired a few health issues that definitely helped me to be more purposeful in making my images. I was diagnosed with the beginning of Macular Degeneration along with severe arthritis in my knees. At first I was devastated with the diagnosis, but then decided to face these challenges head on. I slowed down and really took notice of the intimate details nature has to offer. I’m happy to say that four years later my vision has stabilized and I am back to hiking again.
My hope and vision is that my images will cause you to pause and reflect on all that our world has to share. From the wide expanses to the more intimate subjects, my goal is to bring an awareness of wonder and tranquility to all who view them.
