From atmospheric landscapes to peaceful botanicals, Beth’s work is inspired by her love of the
natural world. With her roots firmly grounded in the Pacific Northwest, she finds enchantment in
the mountains, flourishing valleys and sea shores of the coast.
As an abstract artist, she believes in painting in a way that allows her intuition to create marks
naturally and organically. This philosophy frees her to create an emotional expression of a
particular place, rather than a detailed account. This encourages the viewer to discover their own
connections to each piece as well. Her work presents contemporary yet timeless qualities.
Working from her home studio in Portland, Beth primarily paints with acrylics, occasionally using watercolor, oil, or other materials such as pastel, graphite or stencils to add interest and variety to her pieces. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Portland State University, where she studied studio art practices with a focus in painting and printmaking.
