David works with recycled and sustainable wood materials, searching for new designs and new uses that reveal their hidden beauty and give these amazing pieces of wood a new life and a new home.
David creates vases and ducks from old discarded fence posts that have stood as guardians for farms and ranches in the region for many years. Wood is chosen based on its grains, exterior characteristics, and condition. His walking sticks and canes use local driftwood, forest woods, and other natural and discarded materials. His bread boards, cutting boards, and charcuterie boards use food safe hardwoods and finishes.
David is a Montana Native who has also lived in Nevada, Alaska and now Oregon. He has a Musical-Fine Arts and Education degree from the University of Montana and a Masters degree from the University of Alaska.
