David is a Montana Native who has also lived in Nevada, Alaska and now Oregon. He has a Musical-Fine Arts and Education degree from the University of Montana and a Masters degree from the University of Alaska. As an Artist his focus has been to discover creative wood designs using sustainable, reclaimed, and repurposed wood materials.
David’s artistic visions attempt to pull the hidden beauty within each raw wood piece and bring them new life. The vases and ducks he creates make use of old discarded fence posts that have stood as guardians for farms and ranches in the region for many years. Wood is chosen based on its grains, exterior characteristics, and condition. The walking stick and canes utilize local driftwood, forest woods and other natural and discarded materials. David’s Bread boards, cutting boards and charcutier boards utilize food safe hardwoods and finishes.
As David would say, “I have been creating wood designs for close to 20 years and am always looking for new ways to use recycled and sustainable wood materials that I can envision that hidden beauty within and give these amazing pieces of wood a new life and a new home.”
