Bill Hunt is a sculptor extraordinaire. His marine and aquatic creatures are not only elegant and graceful, but also scientifically accurate, putting his background in Marine Biology with degrees in Fisheries Management and Marine Invertebrate Zoology to their best artistic use. Sculpting since 1979, Bill works in metal and other mediums create forms with highly accurate details. His larger pieces can be found in many public art projects throughout the United States, and his smaller works are held in many private collections.
In addition to his sculpting of creatures, Bill also sculpts the inanimate, using the local driftwood in such abundance at the Oregon coast. He transforms this wood, seasoned by the sand and salt water, to freeform furniture, furniture that radiates the warmth and love of the hands that created it.
