Wayne equates putting brush to paper to opening a door to thousands of places he’s visited over his lifetime and inviting one to emerge. As color flows onto the page, the memory of a place whispers itself into his mind’s eye, and shapes the painting into that form, much like a sculptor does with clay.
His paintings and glasswork emerge from the collective experience of the forests, oceans and mountains he has witnessed over a lifetime of travel. The way clouds soften a vibrant sky, or the sun glances off snow dusted branches in a winter forest, has always stirred his soul. He sees nature as his cathedral and imbues his work with a sense of the sacred.
